European stocks extend gains after White House hints at tariffs extension

Shares of Japanese automaker Honda surged over 15% following its announcement to buy back up to 1.1 trillion yen ($7 billion) of its shares.

The firm upgraded the embattled plane maker’s stock to overweight.

Trump’s reciprocal tariffs follow other import duties he has already announced, including tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico and industry-specific tariffs.
